The Loncin-owned bike maker Voge has announced a new model, the sporty-looking RR525, which could go head-to-head with bikes like the Aprilia RS457 and Honda CBR5000R.

The bike has a lot in common with the already available AC525X, a funky-looking street scrambler you can buy in the UK for around £5,000. As the model name of that bike denotes, the two machines share an engine and some other components, although the performance of the new sports bike should be quite a bit spicier, thanks to a punchier engine tune and more premium chassis parts.

Powering the new bike is a 494cc parallel twin, boasting four valves per cylinder and perfectly square internal dimensions - 68mm × 68mm. Voge is claiming peak power to be 54.9bhp at a heady 8,500rpm, while peak torque is 37lb ft, which arrives at 7,500rpm. Like its retro sibling, the RR525 boasts a six-speed gearbox, that is backed up by a slipper clutch to help deal with aggressive downshifts - the Voge website makes no mention of a quickshifter.

Electronically, the bike gets a handful of aids, although compared to the Aprilia, it is lacking several important elements. ABS, for example, is two-channel, and as the bike has no IMU, traction control is conventional and not lean-sensitive. You do get a TFT dash and three riding modes (Normal, Sport, Leisure), and the traction control system is switchable.

The chassis spec of the bike is quite impressive, with KYB supplying the forks and Brembo supplying the front brake with a single disc and four-pot caliper. The rear brake is from Nissin, while an unnamed brand supplies the rear mono-shock. Rounding out the rolling stock, we have Pirelli Rosso III hoops.

No pricing has been announced for the new RR525, although we can tell you that its naked sibling, the AC525X can be bought for £4,999 (+OTR) via the Voge UK website. The Voge global website also makes no mention of if/when the bike could land in the UK.
