Kawasaki reveals 2027 Ninja line-up featuring 2027 Ninja ZX-6R

Kawasaki has revealed a new four-model Ninja line-up for 2027, which features the latest version of the ZX-6R. 

The ZX-6R will continue to be joined by the Ninja ZX-4R, and the more track-focused ZX-4RR, as part of a mid-to-low-capacity supersport segment that has grown into one of the most congested across all two-wheel categories at the moment, especially with regards to racing.

For example, the World Supersport Championship was previously dominated by machinery such as the Yamaha R6 and Kawasaki’s ZX-6R, however, bigger and more powerful machines such as the Yamaha R9, Ducati Panigale V2 and ZXMoto 820RR-RS are enjoying the most success, currently.

Following a brief hiatus in 2020, the ZX-6R has been a staple of the brand’s supersport range since, and it makes use of race-derived chassis and styling inspired by the company’s flagship Ninja ZX-10R. The new model will also be available in three colourways, including a Metallic Matte Carbon Gray/Metallic Spark Black, which is our favourite of the bunch. 

The new model once again features the company’s famed 636cc inline-four engine, and produces maximum power of 127.6 bhp at 13,000rpm and 50.8 Ib-ft of torque at 10,800rpm. Additionally, the ZX-6R features traction control as standard, supersport-grade brake management, various selectable power modes and a quickshifter, all of which are complemented by full-colour TFT dash, smartphone connectivity and integrated riding modes.

Suspension continues to be handled by Showa, with an inverted Separate Function fork (SFF-BP) featured up front, offering compression and rebound damping, and spring preload adjustability. At the rear is the same fully adjustable Showa rear shock as before.

Joining it are the above-mentioned ZX-4R and ZX-4RR, which receive four updated colours in total (one for the ZX-4R, and three for the ZX-4RR).

Finally, Kawasaki has also revealed a lightly refreshed 2027 Ninja 500, which is also set to be available with an SE (Special Edition) variant. The Ninja 500 also gains three updated colour options for next year. Meanwhile, the SE edition receives exclusive graphics and a full colour TFT display.
