New Ohvale GP7 Gets Huge Technical Shift
Ohvale’s new GP7 has arrived as the official bike supplier for the new GP Junior racing series

The new Ohvale GP7 will be the official bike supplier for the new GP Junior racing series, but it's the seismic changes technically that have grabbed our attention.
Traditionally Ohvale motorcycles have featured a tubular frame and horizontally mounted engine, but the new GP7 changes that as it gets an aluminium beam frame with an adjustable steering head.
It also gets a conventional liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine, with a five speed transmission and electronic quickshifter.
The new GP7 boasts 17-inch wheels, fully adjustable suspension, and a complete Brembo braking system for good measure.
The Brembo set-up includes technology that’s come straight out of MotoGP as the 250cc bikes get a GP4-RS monoblock radial four-piston caliper at the front, while the rear comprises a Brembo two-piston caliper with a stainless steel brake disc.
The suspension features an upside-down fork with aluminium foot pegs. Compression and rebound damping, and spring preload are all fully adjustable.
The rear suspension includes a piggy-back monoshock and gets an aluminium swingarm with adjustable stiffness. Compression and rebound damping, spring preload, and length is all fully adjustable.
The standard wheels are made of forged aluminium, while Marchesini rims are optional. The bike’s dry weight comes in at 90kg.
The Ohvale GP-7 is the exclusive motorcycle of the new GP Junior class which gets underway on 4 May at Estoril.
