This year’s BMW Motorrad Days was, of course, centred around riding experiences, the brand’s latest models, shows and other specific events. But it was quite the year for custom builds, too.

A new ‘Titan’ build, based on the new R1300 R boxer twin, was revealed, but so were these new striking R12 and R18 builds.

A company called Woidwerk, which has partnered with BMW for the best part of a decade, unveiled the two bikes at the 2025 event. While different in style, the two bikes received matching designs.

That’s because the two cruiser models were part of a build project named ‘Speed Sisters’. The idea behind the builds was to create a dynamic retro cruiser with the R12 and R18 that represents a bold and powerful presence.

A bespoke tank cover with an Alcantara surface was CAD-designed and 3D-printed. The R12 features the Woidwerk logo at the front, side and rear of the bike, which is also true for the R18. The chassis has been raised by 15mm on the R 12, which features a Wilbers shock absorber at the rear.

The sporty-looking cruiser benefits from a deep-black exhaust system from Hattech finished with a ceramic coating. Staying with the rear of the bike, the taillight design features Kellermann Jetstream sequential indicators that have been mounted like aircraft wings.

Its sister also received a substantial custom makeover. The tank has been raised and narrowed by 30mm over the standard model, while also getting a 20mm chassis lift. The R18 also benefits from a Wilbers shock absorber.

The standard braking system was upgraded to a more high-performance radial setup, which features 320mm brake discs and radial brake calipers from the BMW R 1300 GS.
