Benda Rock 707 joins the Chinese brand’s growing cruiser motorcycle range
Benda’s new Rock 707 is a 692cc V-twin cruiser with electronic clutch technology and automatic air suspension.

Benda is adding a new cruiser to its burgeoning range as the 692cc, V-twin-powered Rock 707 joins the family.

And while the classic bobber styling is the first thing to catch the eye, it’s the spec sheet for this bike that is arguably the big talking point.
The engine which powers the bike is a fairly unassuming liquid-cooled V-twin, boasting a beginner-friendly 72bhp and 68Nm (50lb ft) of torque. What connects the engine with the back wheel, though, is where things get interesting.

Benda has fitted the bike with its BEC (Benda Electronic Clutch) MK-III system, which does a similar job to Yamaha’s Y-AMT and Honda’s E-Clutch.
The technology allows the rider to pull away, change gear and come to a halt without touching the bike’s clutch lever. As is the case with the Honda system, full manual control is still possible, as the Rock 707 retains a traditional clutch lever on the bars.
The chassis of the bike features a steel tube frame and aluminium swingarm, with non-adjustable USD forks that are mated to a single four-piston disc brake set-up. Where things get really interesting, though, is at the back of the bike.
Instead of conventional twin shocks, which are pretty much de rigueur on a bike like this, the Benda wears a pair of dual-chamber electronic air suspension units.
The system allows for automatic ride height adjustment, meaning the bike can automatically lower itself as the rider comes to a stop and return to its normal height once in motion.

It’s a similar system to the one Harley-Davidson first introduced on the Pan America 1250 Special, although very different in how it works – H-D used electronic spring preload adjustment to alter the seat height, not air.
Benda claims the tech is able to provide the rider with 30mm of adjustment, with a low setting resulting in a 690mm perch, and a 720mm one in its tallest setting.
What the press release from Benda doesn’t tell is, is whether or not the system can be tuned for sportier or more relaxed and comfortable cruising, or, indeed, if it can adjust to heavier or lighter riders, or when the bike is loaded up with luggage.
Speaking about the new bike, Constantin Heinemann, Head of Marketing Europe at BENDA Motor Europe, said:
"The Rock 707 shows where we believe the cruiser can go next … It has the character, proportions, and V2 engine that make a cruiser what it is, but it features technology that changes the experience in ways that riders will not expect.”

The Rock 707 is arriving in Europe in four colours, Knight Black, Sandy Gray, Windy White and Armor Green, although then might not be available in all countries. Pricing is also TBC.
