Shoei’s X-SPR Pro track helmet now comes in a Wayne Gardner edition
Shoei has revealed a new Wayne Gardner helmet design to its already impressive X-SPR Pro line-up.

Shoei’s flagship X-SPR Pro sports helmet for the road and track is now available in a Wayne Gardner edition.
The FIM-approved X-SPR Pro is the successor to the previous X-Spirit III helmet, and as part of its continued development, it features an aerodynamic design that, according to the company, has been optimised to improve performance at speeds in excess of 350km/h (around 217mph).
What all of that means is a big price tag comes with a helmet designed to race with on track. For those of you interested in the new Wayne Gardner edition, you will need to part ways with £819. That price puts the Shoei lid in line with Arai’s RX-7V Evo which costs £799 in a replica design.

The new X-SPR Pro features a lightweight AIM+ shell material, seven intake vents and six outlets, an integrated spoiler and wings, new aerodynamic channels, and a CWR-F2R visor with a central locking mechanism.
Additionally, the Gardner X-SPR Pro helmet gets a Double D-Ring closing system, a rear stabiliser with flaps to provide better stability during braking and an adjustable centre pad system.
Each interior pad allows the rider to tailor the fit of the helmet to their head shape, which includes adjustability at the front and back, but also the left and right sides. The helmet’s interior pads are fully removable and washable.
Gardner, who rode exclusively for Honda throughout his Grand Prix career, was crowned world champion in 1987 while riding a Rothmans NSR500.
The new helmet design from Shoei harps back to that time as it features the white background colour, with red and blue stripes that curve down the helmet from front to back, as well as on the sides.
