New Spada Vanguard adventure motorcycle suit targets real-world problems with modular design

With Level 2 armour, flexible layering and a sub-£300 price tag, Spada is aiming to shake up the adventure kit market in 2026 with the Vanguard riding suit.

Spada has decided it’s time to stop dipping a toe into the adventure market and instead jump into the muddy puddle, boots-first – new Vanguard adventure riding suit leads its 2026 charge.

The British kit brand is calling this its most decisive ADV move yet, and on paper at least, it’s seems about right. Spada isn’t trying to chase trends with the Vanguard, and is instead rethinking how adventure gear actually works when you’re in the saddle.

Instead of piling on the waterproofing, insulation and protection into a single, sometimes bulky outer shell, Spada has split the job up. Protection and breathability come first, while warmth and waterproofing are handled separately, with the latter coming in the form of a removable drop layer that prevents water from reaching the rider.

The idea behind the modula design is to cut down on the compromise on the bulk of traditional laminated ADV kit. Granted, it’s great in the wet, but when things heat up – due to the weather or thanks to hardcore off-road riding – laminated suits can leave you feeling like a boil in the bag biker. Spada’s thinking here is that most riding conditions don’t need a fully armoured, fully waterproof shell all of the time, so why carry the weight and lose the airflow?

The payoff should be a suit that’s lighter, easier to move in, and better suited to the kind of mixed riding most ADV fans actually do, from long motorway slogs to green lanes and everything in between.

Protection and ventilation haven’t been overlooked either, with both the jacket and trousers coming with Level 2 armour and ventilation, and storage that has also been designed with real-world riding in mind.

Price-wise, it undercuts a lot of the premium ADV competition. The jacket lands at £289.99, with the trousers at £229.99, and sizes run from S all the way up to 5XL. Colour options include Racing Grey and Stealth Black available now, with Desert Sand and Forest Green following in April.
