New Shoei Hornet ADV 06 arrives with ECE 22.06 approval and revised internals
Shoei's highly popular adventure helmet enters the ECE 22.06 era with updated safety credentials, revised internals and prices starting from £529.99.

The adventure helmet market has changed a lot over the last decade, but Shoei clearly isn't interested in fixing something that wasn't broken. Instead, the Japanese brand has taken its established Hornet ADV platform and updated it to meet the latest ECE 22.06 safety regulations, creating the new Hornet ADV 06.
At the core of the helmet is Shoei's AIM+ shell construction, which combines multiple layers of glass fibre, organic fibres and high-performance materials to balance impact protection while helping to keep weight under control. Beneath that sits a multi-density EPS liner designed to manage impact energy more effectively across different types of crash scenarios.

As with any adventure helmet, aerodynamics matter almost as much as outright protection – a badly designed peak can turn a long motorway ride into a literal pain in the neck, after all. Shoei says it has addressed this with a balanced shell shape, integrated rear spoiler and perforated peak designed to reduce lift at speed while still providing shade from the sun and protection from branches and flying debris.
Ventilation comes courtesy of four adjustable intake vents and four exhaust ports, helping move air through the helmet during slower off-road sections as well as higher-speed road riding.

The Hornet ADV 06 ships with Shoei's clear CNS-2 visor as standard, complete with a Pinlock EVO insert in the box. The visor itself can be swapped without tools thanks to a quick-release mechanism, while the wide aperture should appeal to riders spending long days on mixed terrain.
Fit has also been a focus, with four shell sizes covering the XS to XXL range to avoid smaller riders ending up with oversized helmets. The interior is fully removable and washable, while alternative cheek pad and centre pad thicknesses are available for riders looking to fine-tune the fit. Integrated speaker recesses are included for intercom systems, while removable ear pads aim to cut down on wind noise during longer journeys.

Security comes via a traditional double D-ring fastening system, while Shoei's EQRS quick release system allows first responders to remove the cheek pads and take the helmet off more safely following an accident.
The Shoei Hornet ADV 06 is available now in sizes XS to L, with XL and XXL sizes due to arrive shortly afterwards.
Pricing starts at £529.99 for plain colour options, rising to £649.99 for graphic versions.
