Well, eat your scoffs. The latest in Kawasaki's interminable series of teasers videos confirms a crankshaft speed - of 14,000rpm.
It doesn't add much else to the hype surrounding the new supercharged 998cc four-cylinder sports bike but it does add: 'Planetary gear technology found in aircraft gearboxes is used to drive the Ninja H2's impeller.'
Translation: 'It's got a supercharger.'
The 300hp track-only Ninja H2R was officially unveiled last Tuesday.
Visordown was first with a picture of the 200hp road-going version, the Ninja H2, which is due to be unveiled to the public at the Milan motorcycle show on November 4.

Well, eat your scoffs. Yes, we used a free smartphone app that analysed the engine’s note to work out its speed, not exactly lab conditions. But the latest in Kawasaki's interminable series of teaser videos confirms a crankshaft speed - of 14,000rpm.
So thanks, acoustic tachometer.
Further proof comes from the rev counter on the Ninja H2R. While it has no numbers painted on it, the lines appear to show it will red-line at 14,000rpm. Not bad for 998cc.
The new video doesn't add much else to the hype surrounding the new supercharged four-cylinder sports bike. It says: 'Planetary gear technology found in aircraft gearboxes is used to drive the Ninja H2's impeller,' which turns at 130,000rpm.
Translation: 'It's got a supercharger.'
