MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago revealed: a limited-edition tribute to a racing legend
MV Agusta has unveiled the Superveloce 1000 Ago, an exclusive, carbon-bodied superbike that pays homage to Ago and marks MV’s 80th anniversary.

Only 83 units of the Superveloce 1000 Ago will be built, one for each year of Agostini’s life, making it one of the rarest production bikes MV Agusta has ever produced. Each bike will be individually numbered and signed by the 15-time world champion, with a unique touch: a part of each motorcycle is crafted from an original Agostini trophy. The centrepiece of the bike’s historical nod is the ignition key. Embedded in the key is a brass coin made from a real trophy Agostini won during his career, giving every owner a literal piece of racing history.
Styling: retro inspiration meets modern performance

Visually, the Superveloce 1000 Ago channels MV Agusta’s signature blend of old-school cues and modern execution. Full carbon fibre bodywork, painted in Fire Red Matt and Magnum Silver Matt, takes clear inspiration from Ago’s GP-winning bikes. Yellow number boards, a leather tank strap with “15 Titoli Mondiali” (15 World Titles) in gold, and silver spoked wheels round out the vintage-inspired look.
The Alcantara seat is embroidered with Agostini’s name and bears the iconic arrow stripes from his leathers. As with the standard Superveloce line, a round headlamp and flowing lines dominate the front end, while carbon aero wings and exposed carbon panels give the bike a futuristic edge.
Premium extras: bespoke leathers and helmet included

Each buyer will have access to a made-to-measure Dainese Demone GP 3X suit and a custom AGV Pista GP RR helmet, both designed exclusively for this model.
The Dainese suit is MotoGP-spec, constructed in kangaroo leather and fitted with the latest D-Air Racing Shield 3X airbag tech, titanium sliders, and pentaxial elastic for maximum movement. It mimics Ago’s original racing leathers and includes a custom name option.
The helmet, homologated to FIM standards, uses a full carbon shell and is styled in a modern interpretation of Agostini’s tricolore design, incorporating exposed carbon accents. Neither item will be available separately, and only owners of the Superveloce 1000 Ago will receive them.
Engine: 208 horsepower, titanium internals

At the heart of the Superveloce 1000 Ago is a 998cc inline-four lifted from the Brutale 1000 RR, producing 205bhp at 13,000rpm and 85.9lb ft at 11,000rpm.
It features titanium valves, forged titanium conrods, and DLC-coated camshafts. A counter-rotating crankshaft and balance shaft help smooth out vibration, allowing the engine to spin to 14,000rpm.
MVICS 2.1 engine management system handles fuel and ride-by-wire throttle control, with eight injectors and a 50mm throttle body. The package includes MV’s EAS 4.0 up/down quickshifter, cruise control, and multiple riding modes: Rain, Sport, Race, and Custom.
Rider aids include 8-level traction control, front lift control that optimises rather than prevents wheelies, launch control, and a two-level ABS system with cornering function and rear lift mitigation (RLM). Race mode disables rear ABS and cornering ABS but keeps RLM active for controlled rear lift.
Tech: GPS, ride tracking and mobile app integration

The bike is fully integrated with the MV Ride app via a built-in GPS module, allowing for corner-by-corner navigation, trip recording, lean angle tracking, and the creation and sharing of custom engine maps.
Owners can tune throttle response, engine torque, engine braking, and suspension settings via the app, even before starting the bike. A satellite alarm system using the Mobisat module comes standard, free for the first year.
Chassis: Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, lightweight frame

The chassis is a combination of a steel trellis frame with aluminium side plates and a single-sided swingarm. Pin height is adjustable and marked with a dedicated plate.
Öhlins provides the fully electronic suspension: 43mm forks and a rear monoshock, both with 120mm travel and electronically controlled damping. An electronic steering damper adjusts automatically or can be manually set.
Braking comes courtesy of Brembo Stylema calipers, 320mm floating discs with aluminium flanges up front, and a 220mm disc with a 2-piston caliper at the rear. ABS and RLM integration ensure maximum stopping performance under hard braking.
Materials: forged carbon, CNC parts, Alcantara

MV Agusta has leaned heavily into premium materials here. A total of 41 carbon fibre elements, including both laminated and forged pieces, make up the bodywork. CNC-machined aluminium components and real gold plaques feature throughout. Gold highlights, titanium accents, and high-grade finishes are used extensively—no corner cut.
Limited edition kit included
As with other MV Agusta limited-edition models, each Superveloce 1000 Ago comes with a dedicated accessories kit, including:
- Certificate of authenticity matching the bike number
- Custom bike cover
- Alcantara and leather passenger seat
- Passenger pegs, heel guards, and mounts
- Adjustable swingarm pivot height plates
- CNC billet brake and clutch levers
Conclusion: a rolling tribute to MV’s golden era

The Superveloce 1000 Ago is less a modern retrobike and more a rolling sculpture that fuses MV Agusta’s historic racing success with cutting-edge superbike engineering. It’s dripping in exclusivity, loaded with tech, and pays homage to one of the most decorated motorcycle racers in history.
But with just 83 examples, this is very much collector territory, and we assume, it’ll be priced accordingly. If you want one, don’t hang about.
