Iconic Auctioneers will be making this cute MV Agusta mini GP replica available for auction next month.

This particular example was commissioned by MV Agusta as part of a limited run in the 1970s, and is inspired by a replica that was gifted to racing legend Phil Read for his son. Read joined MV Agusta in 1972, before going on to win world championships with the company in 1973 and 1974, both of which came in the 500cc class.

The small run of official mini GP replicas were powered by a 48cc two-stroke Morini engine, Dellorto carburettor and single speed transmission with a centrifugal clutch.

According to the bike’s listing by Iconic Auctioneers, it is a “highly detailed replica of the GP Race Bike, including a one-into-four exhaust, full fairing and wire wheels”.

It has been owned for more than 20 years by the same vendor, and is claimed to be in very good condition. The bike has also been restored; however, it is not registered for the road.

It is one of many impressive motorcycles that is set to be auctioned off at The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Kempton Park 2026, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 18.

Joining the mini MV Agusta GP bike will be a stunning 1986 Suzuki GSX1100X Katana, which was designed in Germany and unveiled at the 1980 Cologne Motorcycle Show. The bike is named after a Samurai sword and is fitted with a Yoshimura exhaust and Ohlins suspension setup at the rear.

Another highlight from next month’s auction is Michael Dunlop's 2010 Hunts Motorcycles Racing TT Superstock race bike. This Honda CBR1000RR was used by Dunlop during Superstock TT practice, and is presented in its original TT race condition, correct numbers and in running order.

You can find out more information about these bikes, and the upcoming auction, on the official Iconic Auctioneers website.
