Metzeler is bringing new rubber to EICMA
Metzeler is set to unveil two new Sportec supersport road tyres at November’s EICMA show.

German manufacturer Metzeler is planning to unveil three new tyres at the EICMA show next month, which include two supersport hoops and a street enduro product.
Starting with the first of said supersport tyres, the Sportec 01 it is set to land as the successor to Metzeler’s Sportec M9 RR rubber, and is specifically designed for sporty road use. Taking things a step further is the company’s new Sportec 01 RS tyre, which has been built for even sportier road riding and is suitable for track days.
The new RS rubber will offer better grip levels compared to the standard Sportec 01, however, the latter is viewed as the tyre to go for should you want more performance in the wet and higher mileage, according to Metzeler.

Both the Sportec 01 and RS tyres feature Dynatread technology, which was first used by the company with its Roadtec 02 tyres. The technology offers an adaptive tread pattern that improves grip and stability at high speed.
Then there’s the semi-knobbly Karoo 4 Street tyre that’s been designed for “high-end adventure motorcycles and maxi enduros”. Metzeler also says that the tyre is best used for 70 per cent road and 30 per cent off-road use.
The new Karoo 4 Street tyre, like the Sportec 01, will act as a successor to a previous model. It will replace the outgoing Karoo Street tyre, while also offering more road performance than the Karoo 4, which Metzeler has tailored more towards off-road use.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Karoo 4 Street is said to offer better on-road handling, thanks to its new profiles, more uniform wear, and greater separation of the central knobs.
The three new tyres will go on sale as part of the Metzeler range in early 2026, although the exact timeframe for that is not yet known.
