Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute celebrates “unbreakable bond” as MotoGP leaves circuit

Aprilia's limited-edition RS 660 celebrates its “unbreakable bond” with Phillip Island, just as MotoGP prepares to swap the iconic circuit for Adelaide in 2027.

Aprilia has unveiled a special-edition version of its RS 660, celebrating what it calls an “unbreakable bond” with Phillip Island, a circuit that will disappear from the MotoGP calendar after 2026 as the Australian Grand Prix moves to Adelaide.

The limited-edition RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute gets exclusive graphics inspired by the Australian circuit, along with a passenger seat cover fitted as standard. It will be displayed at EICMA in Milan from 5 to 8 November, although Aprilia has yet to announce how many examples will be produced or how much the special edition will cost.

The timing is interesting, given that MotoGP is preparing to leave Phillip Island after almost 30 seasons in favour of a new street circuit in Adelaide. Whether the new venue can build the same sort of reputation as Phillip Island remains to be seen, but Aprilia's choice of words suggests its relationship with the outgoing circuit is something it wants to celebrate.

Aprilia Racing has scored ten victories across the various classes of the MotoGP World Championship at Phillip Island, alongside its successes in the World Superbike Championship with the RSV4. The most recent MotoGP win came in 2025, when Raúl Fernández took victory on his RS-GP, helping Aprilia reach 300 wins in the Motorcycle World Championship.

As for the bike itself, the Phillip Island Tribute retains the standard RS 660's mechanical package, with the changes focused on its appearance and equipment.

The special livery combines a white base with green panels on the sides and tail section, while the red wheel rims pick up another colour from the circuit's logo.

The track layout appears on the side panels alongside the words 'Phillip Island Circuit' and a chequered flag graphic, while a badge on the fuel tank records Aprilia's victories at the venue.

Each bike will also have its own serial number on the top clamp.

Underneath the special paintwork, the RS 660 uses Aprilia's 659cc parallel-twin engine, which produces 105hp (103bhp) at 10,400rpm and 70Nm (51.6lb ft) of torque at 8,400rpm. A 35kW version is also available for riders holding an A2 licence.
