Triumph has brought back its co-branded Arai Concept-XE helmet after the retro-inspired lid disappeared from shelves just a week after launch.

Buying a premium motorcycle helmet doesn't always mean it'll be hanging around on dealer shelves. Triumph's co-branded Arai Concept-XE proved exactly that when it sold out within a week of going on sale, and now the British brand has announced it's finally back in stock.

Part of the Triumph x Arai collaboration launched last year, the Concept-XE is aimed squarely at owners of the firm's Modern Classic range, blending the clean, minimalist styling of 1980s full-face helmets with the safety and technology expected from a modern Arai lid.

The helmet retains its ventless, retro-inspired shell, complete with Arai's VAS visor system, which lowers the visor pivot point to improve the helmet's ability to glance off impacts while also making visor changes straightforward. Inside is a removable and washable liner designed to keep things comfortable on longer rides, despite the old-school appearance.

While the styling harks back to the bold simplicity of the 1980s, the Concept-XE is very much a modern Arai underneath, using the Japanese firm's lightweight shell construction and contemporary safety standards rather than simply trading on nostalgia.

The Triumph x Arai Concept-XE is available in XS to XL sizes and carries an RRP of £549. Beneath its retro-inspired shell is Arai's lightweight PB e-cLc composite shell, certified to the latest ECE 22.06 standard, while a Double D-ring fastener, removable and washable interior, and VAS Max Vision visor system help bring modern performance to the old-school styling. Like any Arai, the helmet is available in a range of shell sizes to help keep weight and proportions in check across the size range.

The Concept-XE is one of four helmets in Triumph's Arai range, sitting alongside the Quantic, Tour-X5 and MX-V Evo, although it's likely to be the one that catches the eye of Bonneville, Speed Twin and Scrambler riders looking to complete the retro aesthetic without sacrificing modern protection.
