New ABUS Louis Edition security range lands in the UK
A pair of Louis Edition ABUS locks are now on sale in the UK, including an alarmed disc lock and a compact kit lock for travel.
Louis Moto has partnered with long-time security specialist ABUS to launch two special edition locks for the UK market. The one-off ABUS Louis Editions are on sale now through the Louis Moto website.
ABUS 8077 2.0 Detecto XPLUS Louis Edition – £173.14
The 8077 2.0 Detecto XPLUS (lead image and above) is a disc lock built for riders who want portable security with a decent level of protection. It carries a Sold Secure Gold rating and uses a 13mm hardened steel locking bolt, backed up by ABUS’ high-security XPLUS cylinder to resist picking.
A 3D Position Detection system monitors for movement and, if disturbed, triggers a 100dB alarm. The lock also uses LEDs and sound prompts to show whether it’s armed and what the battery state is. At 835 grams and measuring 59x110x39mm, it’s compact enough to live in a tail pack or pannier without much fuss.
A brake disc recognition feature means the lock knows when it’s fitted to a rotor, so it won’t alarm when stored or transported in the locked position. The package includes two keys, AAA batteries, and a carry case.
ABUS TravelGuard Cable Tie Lock Louis Edition – £25.97
Designed more for kit than bikes, the TravelGuard Cable Tie Lock offers a simple barrier against opportunistic theft when leaving your helmet or luggage unattended. The steel core cable is 4mm thick, 76cm long, and weighs just 106 grams, making it easy to stash in a jacket pocket or your tail-pack.
It uses a four-digit combination lock with 1,000 possible codes, and a weather-resistant coating to reduce scratching and corrosion.

UK buyers won’t pay extra beyond the advertised prices, which were correct at the time of writing, as VAT and any applicable customs refunds are handled by Louis Moto.
