Hedon enters the smart helmet space with Quin tech integration
Hedon’s latest move sees the traditionally analogue brand adopt connected safety tech, including crash alerts and GPS tracking.

Hedon isn’t a name you typically associate with sensors, algorithms or app ecosystems. However, that changes today, as the London-based brand is teaming up with Quin to bring connected tech to its helmets.
The partnership effectively plugs Quin’s smart safety system into Hedon’s existing range, creating what is, on paper at least, a blend of luxury and live data. Buyers can opt for helmets with the system already installed, dubbed “Quin Within”, or go for “Quin Ready” models that allow the tech to be added later.

At the centre of it all is the Quin Pod, a compact sensor unit that tracks movement thousands of times per second. Using AI-driven detection, it’s designed to recognise when something’s gone wrong, rather than just when something’s moved. In the event of a crash, the system can automatically alert pre-set emergency contacts with location data, while a subscription-based upgrade links riders to Quin’s wider response network.

It’s a notable shift for Hedon, whose helmets have traditionally focused on craftsmanship, aesthetics, and a premium build quality – and price tag. This move brings active safety into the equation, marking a shift toward the ever-growing connected-helmet space.
There’s also a secondary layer to the partnership, as the system logs ride data, including speed, distance, and even impact metrics – although we assume this feature can be turned off if the rider chooses.
Another positive aspect of the system’s design is its plug-and-play nature. We are guessing that, as the Quin Pod is exceptionally dinky and quite literally is placed within the helmet’s interior, you could turn any of your “Quin Ready” helmets into a connected lid using just a single Quin Pod.

Pricing for the Hedon Psilo Explorer, which is Hedon’s new adventure-styled lid and the first to gain Quin compatibility, starts at £899 for the Ivory Nomad and Signature Black models. The Quin Pod, which is also available directly from Hedon, is priced at £79.
You can find out more about the system on the official website.
