Galfer brings MotoGP-derived braking to the road
Galfer is bringing new road-ready braking technology to EICMA that’s been developed in MotoGP.

Galfer is set to show off its all-new Floatech Road brake disc at next week’s EICMA show, which features a heavy dose of MotoGP-derived technology.
Developed extensively through both the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships, the Floatech Road is the brand’s first road-ready brake disc that’s been developed through its Grand Prix racing program.
The new Floatech Road disc is the one that was used by current MotoGP rookie Ai Ogura during his 2024 Moto2 title-winning campaign.
According to Galfer, some of the main features surrounding the Floatech Road disc are its patented connection system which helps reduce noise and vibration. It also claims to offer “controlled floating movement and perfect alignment with the pads, improving braking precision and system lifespan”.
The new Floatech Road has been fully certified to ECE R90 safety standards, thus giving it full compliance for road use in Europe.
The Floatech Road system is not the only one that’s set to be presented by Galfer at EICMA, as a new Floatech Racing Kashima disc is also set to be unveiled.

Galfer says its Kashima brakes have been “optimised to achieve the best stiffness-to-weight ratio, while the Floatech system keeps the disc aligned and stable, ensuring precise and consistent braking”.
Now, if you’re wondering what bikes will allow you to integrate this system, then you’re in the right place. Yamaha’s YZF-R1, R6, and R9 models can all use the Floatech Racing Kashima system. It can also be fitted to Ducati’s Panigale V4, S and R models, the Ducati Streetfighter V4, and Honda’s CBR1000RR-R, plus many more.
