Trackhouse Racing confirms 2027 MotoGP deal for breakout star

After losing Ai Ogura to Yamaha for the 2027 MotoGP season, the Trackhouse Racing team has confirmed its first rider signing of the new 850cc era, as Raul Fernandez has been rewarded with a new deal following his breakout season in 2026.

After showing flashes of potential towards the end of 2025, which resulted in a maiden MotoGP victory at Phillip Island and a second place finish at the season finale in Valencia, Fernandez has added consistency in 2026 to make him an outside threat for the title.

Currently sixth in the standings, Fernandez is 35 points behind team-mate Ogura, and 49 points back from series leader Jorge Martin. 

Fernandez’ new deal means he will stay with Trackhouse Racing for the next two seasons, which gives the team some level of continuity after Ogura decided to sign for the factory Yamaha team in 2027.

Fernandez does not have a Grand Prix win to his name so far in 2026, however, he has been victorious in two sprints. The Spaniard has also finished on the podium three times this season, including the last two races at Assen and Sachsenring. 

Justin Marks, owner of the Trackhouse Entertainment Group, said this about the team’s new deal with Fernandez.

The 2026 season continues this weekend with the British MotoGP at Silverstone, the 12th round of the 22-race calendar.
