Overall Review

I bought the bike as a second bike three months ago. The dealer offered me test ride while I was browsing. Hadn't planned on buying a bike, but I immediatly felt very comfortable on the mt07 during the test ride. It's very easy to ride, but it's still great fun for more experienced riders. I've done 1200 miles so far and have no regrets. It's been great fun, trouble free, returns 65mpg, and it's easy on its tyres. The purple colour looks fab in sun, I had doubts about the looks initially but they grew on me. Initially I was underwhelmed by the noise, thought it was cross between a 2cv and a sewing machine. It's quite muted and could be a disappointment to some, but it makes up for it in other areas. I was surprised that I could hear text messages arriving on my phone when in traffic, it's that quiet. Other minor complaint is that the indicator switch is small and fiddly, takes a while to get used to. Performance wise it's adequate. I also test rode the much much faster MT09 briefly, but almost instantly preferred the MT07. Other good points are the effective brakes, fairly unintrusive ABS, nice clocks with pleasing baclighting, good build quality and the headlight is effective. Wind noise is low and coupled with quiet exhaust it makes a pleasant change. I'm all for noisy pipes, I've twin akrapovic without baffles on a KTM 990 adventure that give me a huge grin, but I now prefer no noise at certain times, getting older maybe? Overall, great handling, fun, attractively priced

Strengths

Light , agile , easy to ride and plenty of fun. Puts a smile on my face everytime I get on it. Use it for commuting mainly but the bike is much more than a commuter.

Weaknesses

Overall Review

Very pleased overall with bike a Mivv exhaust system makes it sound amazing whilst allowing greater free revving far better than the Akraprovic not to mention half the price !

Strengths

You can place the bike where you want it to be with such ease, Quicker than you think it is, very natural riding position. Amazing bargain price and mine came with Road Pilot 3's.

Weaknesses

Two niggles in my book, rear shock very bouncy when you ride with passion on rough roads. Indicator / horn buttons in unnatural place, Why Mr Yamaha ?

Overall Review

Being a 37 year old new rider, the MT07 is proving to be the bike I wanted. I was looking for a confidence builder that has room for me to grow but not too big and aggressive to scare me. After the bandit I learnt on, this bike is a complete dream. So light and easily maneuverable at no point have I felt off balance. Handles really well through town and plenty of torque makes for easy riding and the ability to have a reasonable amount of power delivery in any gear. And the price can't be knocked. Love it.

Strengths

Plenty

Weaknesses

None....In my opinion.

Overall Review

Just an amazing bike all round, good for anyone except real speed freaks, not to say it's slow at all. I commute on it, scratch on back roads, and I'm planning to do a bit of touring too. Great value, dealer threw in an Akrapovic system for free. Makes every ride fun

Strengths

My second big bike after riding a Husqvarna supermoto, I was blown away by this one. Plenty of tractable power for road use, comfortable seating position and the seat itself is pretty good too. The engine's smooth as silk, and really characterful, with next to no vibration. The dash is brilliant, loads of info, easy to read and has a fuel gauge and gear indicator, which I did realise how much I would use. Mine came with Michelin pilot road 4 tyres fitted, and they're just amazing, lots of feedback and loads of grip, and they feel really safe in the wet. The windblast is really good for a naked

Weaknesses

Very little. The standard rear shock can get a bit bouncy on rough roads if you're pressing on a bit, and the standard exhaust is really quiet, the Akrapovic titanium system is definitely worth the extra cash.
