Voge DS 525 X, DS 625 X and DS 900 can now get Touratech suspension upgrades
Touratech has released progressive suspension upgrades for the Voge DS 525 X, DS 625 X, DS 800 X Rally and DS 900, with lowering kits also available for selected models.

Touratech is adding a range of suspension upgrades for Voge's growing adventure bike line-up, with new progressive fork and shock springs now available for the DS 525 X, DS 625 X, DS 800 X Rally and range-topping DS 900.
The German firm's latest additions target one of the more familiar compromises found on budget and mid-priced adventure bikes. Standard suspension setups are generally tuned to work for as many riders as possible, but add luggage, a pillion or a rough trail into the mix, and many bikes can start to feel overwhelmed.
That is particularly true in the adventure segment, where manufacturers are expected to deliver comfort on the road, composure off it and keep the price tag sensible at the same time.

Touratech's answer is a set of progressive replacement springs for both the front forks and rear shock, developed alongside suspension specialist Hyperpro and manufactured in Europe. Each kit is model-specific and includes fork oil matched to the spring setup.
The idea behind a progressive spring is straightforward enough: Softer initial travel helps soak up smaller bumps and road imperfections, while the spring rate increases as the suspension compresses further into its stroke. In theory, that means a more comfortable ride during normal use without sacrificing support when the pace increases or the terrain gets rougher.
For riders who regularly tour with full panniers, camping kit or a passenger on the back, it should also mean less fork dive under braking and fewer moments where the suspension runs out of travel altogether.
The move is another sign that Voge's adventure range is beginning to attract the kind of aftermarket support that until recently was largely reserved for the established European and Japanese players. That's no small thing for a brand that only arrived in the UK a few years ago.
Touratech is also offering lowering kits for the DS 525 X and DS 625 X, reducing seat height by 25mm through shorter springs and revised suspension settings.

A lower seat height can make a surprisingly big difference on an adventure bike, particularly once luggage and fuel have pushed the weight north of 200kg. Getting both feet comfortably on the floor can be the difference between an awkward wobble and a non-event when manoeuvring on gravel car parks, uneven campsites or rutted trails.
According to Touratech, the revised spring characteristics allow the bikes to retain most of their off-road ability despite the reduction in suspension travel.
