A new teaser from Suzuki seems to relate to a new GSX-R model
A new teaser video has landed on the Suzuki YouTube channel, and all signs point to a new GSX-R in one form or another.

Suzuki UK has added a new teaser video to its channel, which many commentators believe to be relating to a new GSX-R, in one form or another.
I use that phrase as, in many markets including Europe, the GSX-R1000 is discontinued, having been killed off by tightening Euro emissions regulations. It is, though, still available in selected other markets, making it a bit confusing as to why Suzuki UK is promoting the video.

The video begins with some arty shots of a rider wearing race boots walking across a pitlane - clue one that this is a sports bike of fairly substantial proportions. There are then some flashy graphics on the screen showing Suzuka Circuit branding, which again points to a fairly punchy track-focused bike.

Suzuki has, in recent years, revived a previously discontinued model, with the Euro5 spec Hayabusa making its way back into the range in 2021. But with the sports bike market as it is, it’d be a brave decision to revive the iconic GSX-R1000. Track-focused 1,000cc plus sports bikes still aren’t really selling - unless its a Panigale or an S1000 RR - and many makers are turning to more road-focused sports bikes (as it has already done with the GSX-8R).
With that in mind, and the chances of a new road-going 1,000cc sports bike being slim, what exactly are Suzuki promoting?

Well, it may indeed be a GSX-R1000, although possibly not one that you or I can buy - for now at least. This could be Suzuki beating the PR drum prior to revealing its experimental entry into the Suzuka 8 Hour race, which kicks off next month. That machine will be debuting 100 per cent sustainable fuel for the first time, following 2024 when it raced using 40 per cent sustainable biofuel - image above.
Either way, we don’t have long to wait, as whatever they are revealing will be getting the covers pulled off on July 31 at 8am UK.
We’ll be tuned in to bring you all the details as they happen.
