Suzuki reveals “renewed” luxury scooter to be built in India
Suzuki has unveiled an updated version of its Burgman Street “luxury” scooter.

Suzuki has revealed a model update for its Burgman Street scooter, with technical changes to both the engine and chassis as well as quality of life updates for the rider.
It’s a model that Suzuki describes as a “luxury scooter” that is "renewed" for this year.
Exactly how luxurious a 125cc scooter can be is, of course, up for debate, but the 2026 Burgman Street has LED position lights included in the headlight array; a multi-function switch for the ignition, fuel lid unlock, and underseat storage opening; smartphone connectivity via a colour TFT display; and a keyless start functionality should you choose one of the premium trim packages.
You also get expanded underseat storage, meaning – according to Suzuki – you can get a full-face helmet in there now.
On the technical side, the engine has been revised to give its maximum torque at a lower engine speed, although the actual peak torque figure has not yet been published. The chassis, too, has received updates for 2026, with 500g less weight in the frame itself and a 25 per cent “improvement” in its torsional rigidity.
“These enhancements improve straight-line stability and handling performance, delivering a nimble ride,” Suzuki says of the chassis changes for the 2026 Burgman Street.
Kerb weight for the luxury scooter is down at 115kg in 2026, seat height is set at 775mm, and the bike comes with a 1,285mm wheelbase.
The bike will be built by Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited, so, in India, but that does not mean it will be an India-only model. In fact, the 2026 Burgman Street will be exported to “over 100 countries”, Suzuki says, although it will be India that gets this particular model first, with sales beginning this month.
