Husqvarna issue 2022-2024 model recall over potential rear brake failure

Husqvarna has initiated a recall on its 2022-2024 enduro and cross-country models that are fitted with Braktec brake systems, over fears the rear caliper could fail.

Husqvarna has confirmed a recall is underway regarding some enduro and cross-country models produced from 2022-2024.

The recall is specific to motorcycles that were fitted with Braktec braking systems, as the rear caliper could potentially fail.

Husqvarna says that during market monitoring it was deemed that under certain conditions the brake caliper could break due to excessive loads being applied.

While the chances of the system breaking are considered “rare”, the company has begun a recall of all models that could be faulty.

As a precautionary measure, Husqvarna says “the rear brake caliper, including the caliper bracket, must be replaced on all motorcycles subject to the campaign”.

Only a limited number of cases have so far been detected, with all changes set to be made free of charge.

That is standard procedure when brands initiate these kinds of recalls, however, customers should be aware that changes can only be made at authorised Husqvarna dealerships.

Customers who own one of the affected models will be notified by letter to schedule an appointment. In addition, customers can also check whether their enduro or cross-country motorcycle is affected via the company’s official website.

Husqvarna is one of several companies that has found itself needing to issue a recall over certain 2024 models in recent years. This comes after KTM made back-to-back recalls on some of its 390 models towards the end of 2025.

On those occasions it was due to the engine control unit (ECU) needing to be updated, and the fuel cap seal potentially being faulty.
