Spy shots of a potential Triumph Bonneville 400 have surfaced online, which could arrive as a rival to Royal Enfield’s Classic 350.

Triumph’s iconic ‘Bonnie’ range is headlined by models such as the Bobber, Speedmaster and T120, all of which share the same 1,200cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine.

Then there’s the Bonneville T100, which also features a liquid-cooled parallel twin engine, although its displacement is smaller at 900cc.

But Triumph’s modern classic range could soon feature a ‘baby’ Bonnie after spy shots were shared on social media by content creator Motobob, which showed a small-capacity motorcycle with many similarities to bigger Bonneville models.

The name of the motorcycle, which already looks production ready, has not been confirmed. But at first glance, we can see that the headlight is very similar to bigger Bonnevilles.

That’s also true regarding the main section of the bike, including the layout of the engine and exhaust, as well as its twin rear shocks. The long flat single seat is also a staple aboard bigger Bonneville T100 and T120 motorcycles.

The arrival of a Bonneville 400 would likely do two things; offer a more retro alternative to the Speed 400, while also serving as a potential rival to Royal Enfield’s Classic 350, especially in markets such as India.

The above-mentioned twin shock suspension is different to the Speed 400s monoshock system. It also features spoked wheels, while the front brake disc on the new bike is placed on the right side of the wheel, instead of the left, which is the case for the Speed 400.
