Racer returns after dislocating spine

Back on track 18 months since horror crash

A MOTORCYCLE racer whose spine disconnected from his pelvis in a crash in 2009, is returning to racing, in the British Superbike Championship.

Mike Booth highsided his CBR600RR at Brands Hatch in the National Superstock 600 race and was hit by another rider. The crash broke Booth's pelvis and disconnected his spine from his pelvis, he has spent weeks in a wheelchair and undergone intensive surgery. His spine is now held in place with two bolts.

However, after this horrific injury, Booth is back and has signed for Riders Ducati and will race an 1198 in the British Superbike National Superstock class.
