Camier to miss Misano WorldSBK, Takahashi to deputise again
Leon Camier will return to WorldSBK action at Donington Park, with Yuki Takahashi again deputising for him on the Moriwaki Althea Honda at Misano this weekend
Moriwaki Althea Honda has confirmed Leon Camier’s racing return to the World Superbike Championship will be deferred from Misano this weekend to his home round at Donington Park to allow him more time to fully recovery from his shoulder injury.
The British rider was hurt in an accident during round five at Imola when he was caught up in an accident happening ahead of him, Camier clipping a stricken bike and coming down hard on his shoulder.
Forced to miss round six at Jerez, Camier will also sit out this weekend’s Misano event before making his planned return for his home Donington Park round in just over two weeks’ time.
In his place will once more be ex-MotoGP rider Yuki Takahashi, who made his WorldSBK debut in Camier’s place at Jerez. The Japanese rider, who will be paired with countryman Ryuichi Kiyonari, picked up his maiden WorldSBK points with a run to 13th place in race two.
