Honda reveals new middleweight sportbike concept with a twist

Honda has presented the all-new “Onitsuka Tiger Honda Mid Sports Concept” motorcycle at Milan Fashion Week 2027.

The middleweight sportbike concept is born out of a new partnership with Japanese fashion company, Onitsuka Tiger, which was established in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, in 1949.

Honda, which was founded one year prior in 1948, has since become the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world.

But beyond making traditional combustion-engine motorcycles, the Japanese brand has also been at the forefront of driving the new electric two-wheel segment, resulting in the recent launch of the WN7, and the unveiling of its Outlier EV Concept.

Other concept models include the all-new e-MTB Prototype, marking Honda’s first steps towards entering the electric mountain bike market.

But while those models are certainly something out of the ordinary for the Tokyo-based manufacturer, the new Onitsuka Tiger sportbike concept looks, and feels, a lot more like a traditional Honda model.

Wearing a bright yellow and black livery, the concept motorcycle features the fashion company’s branding on the lower side fairing, and at the front of the bike.

The predominantly black wheels also feature ‘Tiger Yellow’ accents dedicated to the new partnership.

From there, the motorcycle features a premium-spec with Brembo brakes and an Akrapovic exhaust system.

However, it’s not just Honda that has celebrated the new partnership by revealing its own product, with Onitsuka Tiger unveiling footwear and apparel incorporating the company’s ‘Wing Mark’, the traditional symbol of Honda motorcycles. 

According to Honda, the collection “provided an opportunity to highlight the attention to detail in manufacturing shared by both brands”.
