Sam Sunderland travels 948 miles in 15 hours as part of around the world record attempt
Sam Sunderland has completed the second leg of his around the world record attempt, travelling 948 miles from Bangkok, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aboard a Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer.

The two-time Dakar Rally winner and Red Bull athlete completed 948 miles during that time, taking his total distance covered to 3,304 miles.
Sunderland set off from Bangkok at 21:32 UTC on Saturday, September 12, before reaching Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, September 13, at 13:05 UTC.
So far, the record clock running time has seen Sunderland complete 3,304 miles in just two days, seven hours, and seven minutes, including rest time.
By attempting to become the fastest rider to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle, Sunderland is trying to break the current record set in 2002 by Kevin and Julia Sanders, of 19 days, eight hours and 25 minutes of riding time.
Sunderland set off from Greenwich, London, at 3am UTC on Saturday, September 5, before reaching Istanbul at 21:50 UTC on Sunday, September 6.
As part of his journey from the UK to Istanbul, Sunderland rode through England, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and of course, Turkey.
The first leg formed part of an 18,000-plus-mile route that will take Sunderland across five continents and through two antipodal points.
The clock is stopped for overseas crossings but not for rest periods, making the challenge particularly tough physically, as Sunderland is attempting to recover enough between long stretches of riding.
Sunderland is tackling the record on a Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer, giving us an early look at the new-for-2027 version of Triumph's big adventure bike in conditions rather more demanding than the average road test.
The motorcycle is being used for the entire attempt and will eventually have to complete the journey back to Greenwich.
