IF you’re stuck for a Christmas present for a discerning MotoGP fan, how does owning the exhaust pipe from Marc Marquez Honda RC213V MotoGP motorcycle sound?

Well, it’s not exactly a full system exhaust, although it will cost you about the same amount as one of Akrapovič’s titanium full-systems. The diminutive end-can you can see above is reported to be costing an eye-watering ¥330,000 or £2,400!

In total there are seven of the sought after desk ornaments up for grabs, each has been taken from the 2018 RC213V and 2019 editions of the iconic - and record-breaking - Repsol Honda MotoGP machines. That means all of the components up for grabs are genuine parts that would have helped the six-time MotoGP champion to lift another title.

Each of the items comes sealed in a glass presentation box and is mounted on a base with HRC plaques confirming the part. As well as this, each one bought will come with an HRC Season book relating to the year that corresponds with the part, and the all-important certificate of authenticity – very handy when your grandkids go on The Antiques Roadshow circa 2060…

So, if you have a couple of grand burning a hole in your two-piece leathers, get yourself over to the Honda Japan website and land a piece of genuine MotoGP tech. Just don’t tell the other half – and good luck fitting it to your Fireblade!
