The latest Ducati communication device, the Ducati Communication System V3 by Cardo, has been launched, and is available in Ducati dealers.

Ducati Communication System V3 by Cardo

Ducati has announced the launch of its latest communication device, the Ducati Communication System V3, in collaboration with Cardo Systems.

Cardo has been making communications systems for motorcycle riders since 2004, and the Ducati Communication System V3 by Cardo is the third product to emerge from the Ducati-Cardo partnership.

The simplest way to look at the Ducati Communication System V3 by Cardo (we’ll go with DCS3 from here on) is that it is a red paint job on a Cardo Packtalk Neo, which is the second tier of the Packtalk range, between Slim and Edge (discounting the recently-announced Packtalk Custom).

That means the DCS3 is capable of connecting to a group of up to 15 riders across a range of 1.6km, or one mile for communication with riding partners. Additionally, it can connect via Bluetooth to the user’s phone, GPS, or motorcycle dashboard, for example.

Further, the DCS3 is equipped with Mesh connectivity technology, which means it can leave and rejoin groups automatically, not requiring intervention from the user and thus not distracting the user from riding.

It takes two hours to fully charge the DCS3’s battery, after which the battery will last for 13 hours. Furthermore, after 20 minutes of charging, the DCS3 is capable of two hours of ‘talk time’.

Software updates for the DCS3 are able to be downloaded and installed to the device via USB, or the Cardo Connect app.

The Ducati Communication System V3 by Cardo is already available from Ducati’s dealer network, but is not yet available online. Prices are not confirmed by Ducati, but the Cardo Packtalk Neo retails at €369.95, or £324.89 (at time of writing, March 2023), which may give an indication to the price.
