Nexx has refreshed its X.R3R carbon race helmet through a series of graphics updates, as well as durability, comfort and performance upgrades.

The European helmet manufacturer’s new designs are named Ziger, Apex and Hadal, but it's the latter that is the most expensive of the three. The X.R3R Hadal helmet will cost customers £539.99, while the Ziger and Apex variants are both priced at £489.99.

The X.R3R helmet is positioned within the company’s race range, and like most of the other variants in the line-up, these three helmets are all made with carbon-fibre.

The changes start with the cheek pad attachments, which have been refined in order to offer a more secure fit and easier removal. Additionally, the visor seal has been enhanced, according to Nexx.

Air intakes are now fused directly into the shell, rather than being screwed on. This has been done to offer a cleaner finish and to improve long-term durability. Nexx has also re-engineered plastic parts throughout the helmet to offer increased strength and greater resistance against UV exposure.

The X.R3R’s shell is made from X-Pro 3K carbon-fibre, while all three helmets are ACU certified and fully compliant with the latest ECE 22.06 standards for road use.

Each model also comes with a two-piece rear spoiler, including a short fixed section for road use and an extended transparent section that can be added for track sessions.

Furthermore, Nexx says “comprehensive soundproofing is achieved with an Anti-Vibration EPS system that absorbs intrusive vibrations and buzzing caused by air turbulence at higher speeds”.

At the front of the X.R3R is a recoil visor system that uses spring-loaded side plates to pull the visor against a double rubber seal. This should offer more protection against wind and rain. The X.R3R also comes with a Pinlock 120 XLT Max Vision anti-fog insert as standard.

Six air intakes and four exhaust ports at the rear offer a healthy amount of airflow throughout the helmet, while an elongated chin vent shape also helps filter more air through.
