Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX (2020)

KAWASAKI’S highly successful sports touring machine gets a name change and raft of updates as the Ninja 1000SX carries the brand forward into 2020.

The most notable change to the model for this year – other than the name change – comes in the form of a new, more aggressive look, with a sleeker front end. To compliment the new look, the Ninja 1000SX now features full LED lighting.

Other big changes come in the form of increased rider and passenger comfort, thanks to new, larger rider and pillion seats. A new adjustable screen is also used which has four positions, and there’s the option to add a taller accessory screen to further aid long distance riding.

Internally the bike has also been given a thorough refresh, with cruise control fitted as standard, a quick shifter and riding modes that work with the traction control and power modes. All the above is controlled through a newly designed 10.9cm TFT dash.

The new Ninja 1000SX also includes a Bluetooth chip built into the dash, enabling the rider to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Once linked to the Kawasaki Rideology app, users can access a range of instrument functions such as, remaining fuel, distance covered and maintenance schedule.

General settings such as preferred units and date format can be adjusted via Smartphone while the TFT screen itself can also show - via an icon - if a telephone call or email has been received by the smartphone plus the screen brightness automatically switches between three rider-set levels to suit the available light.
