With the launch of the all-new Monster and Multistrada V4, not to mention the showroom debut of the Streetfighter V4, 2020 was a busy year by all accounts for Ducati.

So much so it seemed to forget about the rascal of the range, the Hypermotard 950 SP, which was forced to hold out a little longer to get Ducati’s attention. That day has now come with Ducati marking the mandatory tweaks needed to bring the model up to Euro5 regulation to give it a mild refresh.

The supermotard has remained faithful to the original launched back in 2005 and is perhaps the most throwback model left in the range following the Monster’s restyle. As such, Ducati hasn’t tinkered too much with the formula, retaining the same angular silhouette and hooligan-infused attitude.

In the week Ducati kicks off its 2021 WorldSBK campaign, the Hypermotard sports a new livery that echoes both that and the firm’s MotoGP efforts, designed to ‘underline the dynamic and fun character of the bike’.

The Testastretta 11-degree twin-cylinder engine remains at the heart of the Hypermotard 950 boating 114hp at 9,000rpm, which are unchanged in Euro5 guise.

The Hypermotard 950 in Ducati Red colour scheme, the Hypermotard 950 RVE characterized by “Graffiti” livery and the Hypermotard 950 SP in the new “SP” colour will be available for purchase in Ducati network dealers starting from June 2021. The motorcycles are also available in a depowered version for A2 license holders.
