New 180cc versions of the Vespa Primavera and Sprint have broken cover in Indonesia, and they are reportedly set to replace the current 150 models.

The new models offer slightly more power and torque than the current 150cc variants, which are available across many different markets.

Revealed only in Indonesia, at least for now, the new Primavera and Sprint keep the same single-cylinder engine that’s housed by smaller models from within the Italian company’s range.

Power from the new Primavera and Sprint 180 comes in at 14.7bhp at 8,250rpm, while both scooters also deliver maximum torque of 10Ib-ft at 6,500rpm.

That makes for an increase of 3.1Ib-ft of torque over the 125cc models, and around 0.8Ib-ft more than the 150cc options. Power is roughly 2.5bhp more than the 150cc models, and around 4.6bhp more than the 125s.

It’s unclear if, or when these new models might make their way to different markets, including the UK.

Should Vespa introduce the new 180 models to the UK in the future, it will be interesting to see if they arrive as a replacement, or as additional models within both ranges.

The new scooters come off the back of Vespa revealing updates to its Primavera and Sprint S model at EICMA last November.

As combustion-engined models, both scooters come in a total of three flavours for 2026, including the 50, 125 and 150cc versions. Technical, functional and design updates have all been made for 2026.

The major change is the arrival of a new 220mm steel disc at the rear, which is mated to a twin-piston caliper that’s replaced the traditional rear drum brake.
