GasGas has revealed two new ‘factory edition’ models of its motocross bikes for 2023.

GasGas, a part of the Pierer Mobility Group, joins its fellow PMG members, KTM and Husqvarna, in releasing Factory Edition motorcycles for 2023.

For GasGas, the MC 250F and MC 450F both receive the ‘factory’ treatment in 2023. The 450 got a factory edition last year, but 2023 will be the debut of the 250 factory version.

In the images featured in this article, for clarity, the 2023 GasGas MC 450F Factory Edition is the bike with the white #51 plates of factory GasGas 450SX and 450MX rider Justin Barcia; while the 2023 GasGas MC 250F is the bike with the plain black plates, ridden in the video below by factory GasGas 250SX and 250MX rider Pierce Brown.

The most obvious change for the Factory Edition bikes is the graphics kit, which is based on the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull GasGas team in the US.

However, there are also technical changes compared to the base models. The MC 450F Factory Edition, for example, features a new cylinder head and CP pistons; while the 250’s motor is more compact, and features a new cylinder head, new cylinder, new piston, new crankcases, and there is also a new gearbox.

Both bikes also share a number of updates for the factory editions:

  • New generation frame
  • New aluminum subframe
  • New die-cast swingarm
  • New bodywork and graphics
  • Bigger fuel tank
  • New footrest design
  • Firmer, updated suspension settings
  • State-of-the-art electronics with Traction Control and Quickshifter
  • New map selector switch to engage mappings, launch control, traction control and quickshift
  • Lighter motors and new engine position

Additionally, both bikes come with WP Xact suspension front and rear, Dunlop Geomax MX33 tyres, and an Akropovic slip-on pipe. There’s also ODI Lock-On bar grips, and a ribbed seat, while the front brake disc is semi-floating and protected by a disc guard.

Further, both bikes come with a start device (or holeshot device, if you’re more familiar with MotoGP terminology), a Neken handlebar, a carbon composite skid plate, Hinson clutch cover, what GasGas calls a “red Frame Protection Kit”, black rear sprocket, and a gold x-ring chain. Finally, both motorcycles come with an hour metre.

In the US, the bikes will be available from January 2023, but GasGas only mentions that the MC 450F Factory Edition will be available in Europe, and it won't land until March 2023. Find your local GasGas dealer on the dedicated webpage.
