Marc Marquez to make 850cc MotoGP debut at Brno test
Marc Marquez will be one of two full-time MotoGP riders representing Ducati at next week’s 850cc test.

Nine-time world champion Marc Marquez will get his first impression of MotoGP’s new 850cc prototypes, alongside Fermin Aldeguer at next week’s Brno test.
The 850cc test represents the first time opportunity for full-time racers to try next year’s bikes, while also using new Pirelli rubber. Due to the limited number of bikes available, only two riders per manufacturer are expected.
Marquez will be the headline name at the behind-closed-doors test, although current championship leader Marco Bezzecchi will also be in action for Aprilia, according to Visordown’s sister publication, Crash.net.

For most manufacturers, the decision on which two riders take part will be taken carefully, as some riders are expected to leave their current teams at the end of the season. That’s the case at the factory Ducati team, which is why Francesco Bagnaia has not been chosen to test one of the brand’s 850cc machines.
KTM’s test team for the Brno 850cc test has not yet been confirmed, but with Pedro Acosta likely to leave the Austrian marque at the end of the season, the Spaniard is not expected to feature.
KTM could decide to use its star-studded test team of Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro, however, if it does include a full-time racer, that will give us an idea as to what its plans for 2027 are.
It’s a similar story at Yamaha and Honda, with only Toprak Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) and Diogo Moreira (Honda) confirmed at their current manufacturers for 2027. With Fabio Quartararo set to join Honda next season, the 2021 MotoGP world champion is not expected to feature at Monday’s test, which is also the case regarding Jorge Martin, who is set to leave Aprilia to join Yamaha.

Next week’s test will take place on Monday, 22 June, one day after the 2026 Czech MotoGP.
