Isle of Man TT winner to miss Southern 100 road race
Southern 100 race winner Davey Todd will miss the 2026 event, after choosing to focus on his continued recovery from injury.

Davey Todd’s injury-hit season is set to continue after the Isle of Man TT star confirmed he will miss next week’s Southern 100 races, which will feature a star-studded line-up in his absence.
Todd’s 2026 campaign has so far failed to get going, after the 8TEN Racing team co-owner suffered a crash at the Daytona 200 in March.
Despite his best efforts to make a quick return, which includes attending the North West 200 in the hope of competing, the three-time TT winner was ultimately ruled out prior to the event. Todd suffered the same fate ahead of the 2026 Isle of Man TT, meaning he has not raced in any of the major races since his injury.

A multiple race winner at last year’s Southern 100, Todd said this on social media about missing this year’s event:
“Gutted I won't be lining up there this year. I’ve been working hard to be back racing as soon as possible but we’re just not quite there yet.”
The 8TEN Racing BMW rider suffered numerous injuries in his crash during the Daytona 200, the same race that saw his 8TEN Racing team-mate Peter Hickman also suffer a nasty crash.
However, Hickman has already made his return from injury, finishing on the Isle of Man TT podium four times in 2026, including twice in the Supersport class.

Hickman is one of several major names that will be contesting the 2026 Southern 100 event, but unlike rivals Michael Dunlop and Dean Harrison, the 14-time TT winner is making his debut at the 4.25-mile Billown Course, which is located on the Isle of Man.
The 2026 Southern 100 will take place on July 6-9.
