Crowe brothers make winning comeback after 160mph Isle of Man TT accident

Isle of Man TT winners, Ryan and Callum Crowe, made a winning return at the GO Classic Bike Festival Ireland at Bishopscourt last weekend, securing two wins and a new sidecar lap record. 

Ryan and Callum Crowe set the new lap record around the 1.824-mile course with a speed of 87.740mph. The pair were racing an LCR Honda 600 and eventually crossed the finish line 13.3 seconds ahead of Dylan Lynch and Cillian Rodgers during Saturday’s race, who were piloting an LCR Suzuki.

This was the pair’s first road racing appearance since the brothers were involved in a horrifying accident at the 2026 Isle of Man TT. 

Heading into this year’s TT Races Ryan and Callum Crowe were considered the pre-event favourites to add to their tally of four wins around the iconic Mountain Course. However, the pair suffered an accident during practice, which was the second major sidecar incident to take place, after Maria Costello and Shaun Parker were also involved in an accident of their own, one day earlier. These two incidents led to the remainder of the Sidecar TT class being suspended from the event.

Miraculously, the brothers did not sustain life-threatening injuries, despite the incredible speeds they were doing at the time of the accident. 

Following the suspension of the class, TT organisers then commenced a Sustainability Review of the sidecar category, in order to determine if it had a future alongside the various motorcycle classes that are staged as part of the TT schedule every year. 

The opening findings from the review says there is a keen interest in keeping the sidecar class going, although technical and sporting revisions will have to be made before its return is confirmed.
