Honda’s entry-level CB125F has been given big-bike inspired updates for 2025, as well as being the first manual motorcycle within the company to receive the idling stop technology feature.

A decade since its introduction to the European market in 2015, the CB125F benefits from an enhanced Smart Power (eSP) engine which Honda claims “delivers outstanding fuel economy”.

A new O2 sensor and updated ECU settings means the updated model is fully Euro5+ compliant, while fuel efficiency comes in at a very impressive 66.7km/l (156mpg), giving the CB125F a potential range of over 700km (around 430 miles) from the 11-litre fuel tank.

But the big update is the new Idling Stop technology (commonly called Start/Stop) which is a first aboard a manual Honda motorcycle. The CB125F gets the new system following successful applications on the Vision 110, SH125i and PCX125 scooters and the Gold Wing Tour.

The technology switches the engine off at standstill, thus helping to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, and it also operates in any gear to restart the engine as the clutch gets released.

The L-plate-friendly CB125F has also been given a new ‘big bike’ look thanks to the broad-shouldered tank which takes after larger models within the CB family. The new tank has been paired with a refreshed nose fairing and a blacked out fly screen up front.

Speaking of the front section, the updated bike gets a brand new full colour 4.2-inch TFT display more akin to something you would find on a bigger, more specced out motorcycle.

The new CB125F also incorporates smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync for calls and music streaming. For smartphone charging, a USB-C socket is included near the handlebars and new LED lighting is found at the front and rear.

The CB125F will be available in the three colour options including Imperial Red Metallic Matt Marvel, Blue Metallic and the new Matt Axis Gray Metallic. Pricing at the time of publishing is TBC.
