EagleRider has announced what might be the ultimate road trip for 2026 – a once-in-a-century ride along America’s most famous highway as Route 66 celebrates its 100th birthday.

The “Route 66 Centennial Tour” will see just 66 riders from around the world saddle up for a 16-day, 2,210-mile guided ride from Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier, departing on 23 June 2026.

The organisers say the alignment of milestones is too perfect to ignore. Route 66 hits its century, 66 riders make the trip, and all of it happens in the same year the United States celebrates 250 years of independence.

Speaking about the tour, EagleRider CEO Sebastian Schoepe said:

“You can’t script this ... Two great American milestones, one legendary road and endless adventure. When the numbers align like this, you don’t question it—you twist the throttle.”

Over 16 days, the group will roll through eight states, ticking off some of the most iconic stops in motorcycle and car culture:

Cadillac Ranch in Texas, where buried tailfins and spray paint make their own kind of art, followed by the neon glow of the Blue Swallow Motel in New Mexico. Then the ride takes in Oatman, Arizona, where burros still wander the streets of a former Wild West mining town. The epic ride then finishes at Santa Monica Pier, where Route 66 officially ends.

Along the way, riders can also choose to drop into the AAA Route 66 Road Fest in Tulsa, Oklahoma (27–29 June 2026), a celebration of classic cars, live music, and Route 66 memorabilia.

EagleRider isn’t just pointing riders towards Chicago and wishing them luck. The Route 66 Centennial Tour is offered as a fully supported package, complete with premium hotels booked each night, daily breakfasts, and fuel provided on riding days, along with a dedicated support vehicle to haul luggage along the way. Professional multilingual guides will lead the pack, making sure nobody misses the good bits, and at the end of it all, there’s a farewell party to round things off in style.

And because a ride like this deserves something more lasting than just photos and memories, each participant will take home a limited-edition Route 66 Centennial Tour riding jacket. With only 66 ever made, it’s a proper collector’s piece – a memento that marks out those who were there for the once-in-a-century journey.

Riders will have their pick of machinery, with Harley-Davidson touring models available, as well as a BMW R1250s and Yamaha Ténéré 700s for those who prefer something a little less cliche.

Prices start at $7,047 per rider (based on two sharing), which covers the full guided experience.

If you’ve ever dreamed of riding America’s “Mother Road”, this centennial tour may be the most exclusive way to do it – and you’ve got just one chance to get involved.
