New Nexx Y.100R ‘Subsonic’ helmet is packed with impressive features
Nexx’ new ‘Subsonic’ helmet is packed to the rafters with premium features, not to mention it gets ACU Gold approval.
Nexx has revealed its new Y.100R ‘Subsonic’ helmet, which comes packed with features, including an interchangeable, colour-matching visor and spoiler.
The Subsonic lid arrives as the next-in-line Y.100R sports-touring helmet, and one that features a bold, but aggressive look. It comprises an optical class 1 visor with a quick-release system, an integrated drop-down sun visor, and four ventilation ports.

The matching spoiler and visor, which are available in various colours, offer a somewhat unique and custom look, and both can be easily swapped without the need to change lids.
Like all Nexx helmets, the Y.100R Subsonic is 100 per cent designed and manufactured in Europe, and it benefits from full ACU Gold approval for track use in the UK.
Made with a lightweight Polyfusion shell, the Subsonic is especially designed for aerodynamic performance, with a double-blade rear spoiler that aims to reduce drag and neck strain. Its ventilation includes large chin and crown intakes, and rear exhaust ports. It also comes with a dual-density EPS liner.
According to the helmet maker, its X-Swift quick-change visor system means you can swap it out in under eight seconds. A Pinlock 70 anti-fog insert comes as standard, as does a spare tinted or iridium visor, which will depend on your chosen graphic. The helmet’s hypoallergenic X-Mart Dry liner is said to be moisture-wicking, breathable and fully removable.
The Subsonic can be paired with either the Nexx X-Com3 and X-Com3 Pro Bluetooth intercom systems. Additionally, it comes with a dedicated fitting area for each, and a GoPro mount which is included in the box.
Nexx’s new lid is available in sizes XS–XXL and in a choice of Black/Pink, Black/Red or Black/Gold. Pricing for the new helmet comes in at £209.99. That’s the same price as the new Y.100R Fade and Y.100R Urbangram models.
