Ducati opens dealership in heart of England

If you want to sell bikes, move to the World’s Strongest Man’s hometown. That seems to be Ducati’s way of thinking.

In the last year or so, most of the news we’ve heard about dealerships is of their closing down. Ducati bucked the trend this week by opening a new location in Eddie Hall’s hometown: Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Ducati doesn’t mention Eddie Hall in its media release promoting the new Staffordshire-based showroom, which, we feel, is a real oversight. Get that man on an XDiavel V4!

The media release does mention that with the addition of its new Ducati Stoke showroom, the Italian brand now boasts “over 800 sales points in more than 90 countries worldwide.”

“Ducati Stoke offers the full range of Ducati and Scrambler Ducati motorcycles, as well as genuine accessories, apparel, and access to the Ducati Approved certified pre-owned programme,” explains the media release. “Customers can also explore models through the Ducati Configurator or book a test ride online at Ducati.com.”

The grand opening actually took place this past weekend, on Saturday 27 September. A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Ducati UK Managing Director Fabrizio Cazzoli, store owner Bob Sheldon, and British Superbike rider Scott Redding. But not Eddie Hall.

This is Bob’s first Ducati dealership, but he is well known in the area as the owner of Staffordshire Triumph and Staffordshire Honda.

“Opening Ducati Stoke is a proud moment for me and the entire team,” he said. “Ducati is an iconic brand with a rich racing heritage and a reputation for engineering excellence. We’re excited to bring this experience to riders in Staffordshire and to offer a destination where Ducati fans can connect, explore the latest models, and receive expert service and support.”

The media release assures customers that - as you would expect - the new Ducati location will be staffed “by a team of highly trained Ducati specialists, including qualified technicians with a long history and experience with Ducati.”

That’s all well and good, but we’re still mostly interested in what plans they have to get the 2017 World’s Strongest Man on a Ducati.
