2027 Isle of Man TT, NW200: John McGuinness is coming back for one more year
John McGuinness has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will race at the 2027 Isle of Man TT.
John McGuinness looks set to please road racing fans worldwide by returning in 2027, with his plans expected to include the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and selected BSB rounds.
McGuinness revealed his plans when speaking to TNT Sports, with the road racing legend set to remain with Honda.
With McGuinness proving once again in 2026 that very few road racers are faster than the Morecambe rider, few could argue with Honda wanting to keep hold of the 23-time TT winner.
The CBR1000RR-R also remains one of the most competitive packages out there, as demonstrated by Honda Racing UK team-mate Dean Harrison throughout this year.

‘McPint’ set his fastest ever six-lap race time during the 2026 Superbike TT, leading to an impressive fifth-place finish.
This performance led to many of his competitors saying McGuinness should continue racing in 2027, and that Honda should be keen to retain his services.
Speaking about next year’s plans, McGuinness told TNT Sports:
“I’m in a good spot, I can’t really say too much but it looks like we’re going to have the leathers on next year. I can’t leave it alone, it’s like a disease. The job’s sort of changed a little bit, some ambassador stuff, some different bits and pieces with Honda, but I still like putting the leathers on and that’s the problem.
“I’m going to go testing with the team and I’m going to be riding next year with the team, and we’ll be on the grid at some various races.

“We’re going to pick and choose a few BSB rounds but the North West and TT’s on the horizon. I didn’t want to finish the TT on a red flag! It was a red flag in the Senior and I didn’t want to finish that way, but I’m still motivated, still focused, and I still want to improve myself.”
McGuinness’ appetite for success also looks to be as strong as ever, after the Honda star claimed his first road racing win in seven years at the 2026 Classic TT.
