Trackhouse Racing has confirmed it will be without decorated MotoGP team boss Davide Brivio in 2027, which could be the start of several changes at the American-owned team.

Brivio will leave his role at the end of the 2026 season ahead of a potential move to Honda, as the Italian has reportedly been in talks with HRC for 2027.

If Brivio does join Honda for the 2027 season, it will likely be in a wider commercial role rather than the position of team manager which is being vacated by Alberto Puig, who is moving into a broader advisory position for next season.

Brivio joined Trackhouse Racing when the team was formed, which debuted in the MotoGP World Championship in 2024 with Aprilia RS-GP machinery. Brivio moved back to MotoGP with Trackhouse Racing after leaving F1.

Prior to joining the Alpine F1 team in 2021, Brivio oversaw four titles for Valentino Rossi at Yamaha and Joan Mir’s 2020 world championship victory for Suzuki.

Speaking about his upcoming departure from the team, Brivio said:

“In circumstances like these, it is always difficult to find the right words. First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Trackhouse and to Justin Marks in particular, for giving me the opportunity to return to MotoGP. It has been an important step in both my professional and personal journey and it also gave me the opportunity to add the new experience of leading an independent team.

“I am proud of the shared ambitions we pursued together and of having helped build a team with strong human and technical foundations. Together, we achieved important results that I will always carry with me as special memories.”

Brivio leaving is just one piece to the puzzle for Trackhouse, which is yet to confirm its 2027 rider line-up. Ai Ogura, who secured his maiden MotoGP podium at Le Mans, has been linked with a move to Yamaha, while Raul Fernandez’ future with the team is also unclear.
