A German customiser has turned the new R12 G/S in a retro Dakar replica
This might be one of the sweetest lookign custom versions of the BMW R12 G/S ever - and the model is only a few month old!

The German BMW dealer and customiser, Motorrad Martin, has revealed a pitch-perfect recreation of a classic Dakar racer, using the new R12 G/S as the donor bike.
The R12 G/S was only released in March of this year, but it didn’t take long for the well-known German company to get its claws into BMW’s latest dual-sport bike. In fact, the brand, which has dealerships across Germany, might just have beaten BMW to the punch, as it seemed all but certain that Beemer would follow up the production model with a Dakar rep.

Obviously, it’s the paint that instantly draws the eye, although aside from the red and white tank with M-Sport decals, there is a bit more going on here than just a slap of paint and some decals.

There is a more attractive high-level exhaust, for starters, which not only looks better but is reported to shed a kilo in weight from the 229kg bike. It also gains the Rally, the Comfort Pack, which adds hill-hold control, heated grips and cruise control, and the Enduro Pack, which bags you an 18-inch rear wheel, new footpegs, bar risers, hand guards, an engine guard, and a longer sidestand.

Obviously, all the boxes on the options list getting a tickle does increase the price a bit, and Motorrad Martin is currently offering bikes for sale for €25,990 (around £22,500). That’s around £7,700 more than the UK list price of £14,720.
We’ll wait and see if BMW follows suit with its own, slightly more affordable version.
