The 2025 Goodwood Revival races have been and gone, with the action as thrilling and competitive as ever, despite weather conditions making it tricky for the riders involved.

If you haven’t watched a Goodwood Revival race before, you should definitely spare 25 minutes of your time to do so. But luckily for you, we’re here to tell you what happened during the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy races, and which team went on to win the overall event.

Most parts of the UK suffered with heavy downpours over the weekend, and Goodwood, which is based in Chichester, West Sussex, was no different. That meant the start of race one took place on a soaking wet track.

But if you thought that was going to stop a star-studded line-up of former and current racers from taking it easy, you would be wrong.

The start provided a large amount of excitement, as it always seems to, but for one rider things got particularly hairy as he was seen quickly running out of tarmac as he ventured onto the grass.

To cut short any suspense you might have, below is a video of last weekend’s race one highlights, which included a very sketchy Le Mans-style start.

Race one ultimately went the way of Billy McConnell and Tony Perkin, with Steve Plater and Glen English in second. But it was Plater and English that ran out victorious in the end following a third place finish in race two, as the pairing of McConnell and Perkin failed to finish inside the top five.

The 2025 line-up included various world champions with Carlos Checa and Tom Sykes part of the event, while 33-time Isle of Man TT winner Michael Dunlop was the headline name from the road racing scene, alongside John McGuinness.

This year’s event saw the entire grid line-up on classic machines that were built between 1948 and 1966, many of which were Norton Manx and Matchless G50 machines.
