2026 KTM 990 RC R Track specs, details and features
KTM has officially unveiled its new track-only supersport model, which gains slightly more performance over the road-going 990 RC R.

KTM has officially unveiled its all-new 990 RC R Track, which is a souped-up, adrenaline-filled take on the 990 RC R.
The Austrian company previously revealed details of the new 990 RC R Track when it officially launched the road-going model during the latter stages of 2025. However, the Track edition, which delivers slightly more power and torque than its sibling, is now destined for dealerships from March.
As part of a press release, KTM describes its new track weapon as a “pure-bred non-street legal supersport motorcycle”. With a heavy amount of enthusiasm, KTM also goes on to say that “lights, mirrors, [the] side-stand and other street requirements are gone, [and are] replaced by a high value - but also entry-level friendly - race-ready configuration.

“The fairing is made from injected plastic for personal decals and graphics, with a higher windscreen to accommodate a full tuck position”, according to KTM.
The new model retails at £15,599, however, KTM says interested customers will need to contact their local dealer to join the waiting list, as the entire fleet that’s arriving in the UK have all been secured already.
At the heart of the new 990 RC R Track is the same parallel twin DOHC LC8c engine that’s housed by its road-legal sibling. And like the 990 RC R, the Track model can be raced in the new KTM 990 RC R Cup. That said, it produces a claimed 133 bhp compared to the 126 bhp that the 900 RC R delivers. It also produces 77.4 Ib-ft of torque at 7,000rpm, which is a very marginal boost of 1 Ib-ft compared to the 990 RC R.

The new model makes use of Michelin tyres, and is packed with three customisable track modes. Riders also benefit from a host of features such as Traction Control, Slip adjustment, Anti Wheelie Mode, Launch Control and Engine Brake Control. It also comes as standard with a Pit Limiter, quickshifter, lap information which is fed through a sharp 4.2 inch full colour TFT.
Stopping power is taken care of via Brembo, with dual four-piston calipers biting down on a 320mm disc at the front. The rear gets a 240mm disc and single-piston setup. WP Suspension is found at both ends of the bike and offers 130mm of travel.

Riaan Neveling, KTM Head of Global Marketing, said this about the new 990 RC R Track:
“The beauty of the KTM 990 RC R was the ease with which we could make only a few adjustments and have the KTM 990 RC R TRACK ready to go. Our history and achievements on the asphalt informed a lot of the KTM 990 RC R TRACK and the KTM 990 RC R range.
“We took on this project knowing that we wanted to send our customers heartrates’ racing as well! That was the goal, and the KTM 990 RC R TRACK is our best definition of a sportsbike yet. We hope to see as many of them as possible through apexes of the KTM 990 RC R CUP!”
