The CLIQR OX869 USB Type C handlebar mount is a great, affordable and secure way to use – and charge – your phone while out on your bike
Whether it’s to use navigation functions, remain aware of calls and messaging or simply to plug into some ‘tunes’ on the move, many bikers today like to use their smartphones while riding their motorcycles.
And to do so safely and easily (unless you can hook up to your bike’s TFT dash via Bluetooth) often requires the use of a secure and effective phone mounting system to attach your device in your eyeline on your bike.
There are many options out there, but one of the best and most affordable is the CLIQR system from Britain’s own Oxford Products, one of the largest and most reputable of all motorcycle accessory specialists.
The CLIQR is a universal adaptor that uses supplied 3M VHB tape to stick to the back of your phone (or phone case) with this then simply ‘clicking-in’ (hence the name), via a dual locking, fail-safe mechanism, to the mounting system of your choice. These vary from handlebar mounts to ones mounted on mirror stems or top yokes with some also including charging sockets. All, generally, are impressively affordable compared to some rivals, light, easy to install and use and highly rated.

Like all CLIQRs this one’s made from glass-filled nylon so is both lightweight (just 0.23kg) and durable. The handlebar mount also locks into place (this one comes with a silicon insert to suit a 22-22.5mm diameter handlebar, but others are available) via a locking lever, it has a USB Type C charging outlet with 3Amp output so suits most Smartphones and is easily hooked up to your bike’s battery via supplied cables and instructions. It also has a splash-resistant silicon cap which is claimed to protect internal components from the elements in the worst of British weather.
A basic CLIQR mount without charging point is also available, as are more adjustable mounts with ball joints and suchlike if that’s your preference.
