World Supercross Championship is not Coming to London After All
The FIM World Supercross Championship is not heading to London for the first time after all

Organisers of the FIM World Supercross Championship have confirmed a change to the 2025 calendar as London will no longer host the season opener.
The London Stadium was expected to host its first ever World Supercross event, which was set to be London’s first in general. However, inability to meet the “key requirements” means it's been dropped altogether.
Following previous rounds in Cardiff and Birmingham (2022 and 2023, respectively), the championship intends to return to the UK in the future but it won’t be in 2025.
Tom Burwell, CEO of World Supercross, said: “Missing out on London this year is a real blow. The UK fans have been nothing short of exceptional, and we know how much anticipation there was around the event. We exhausted every option to make it work, but ultimately, circumstances outside our control at the stadium made it impossible to deliver the event.
“That said, we’re incredibly excited about announcing the full calendar and what’s ahead. The 2025 season is set to be our biggest yet. With world-class venues and passionate fanbases lined up around the globe, we’re taking another bold step in our journey as we continue to grow the championship on a global scale.”
The cancellation of the London round means the number of all-new venues hosting a World Supercross race in 2025 is down to two, with Buenos Aires and Cape Town still scheduled to go ahead as planned.
Joining the Buenos Aires and Cape Town rounds as confirmed events for 2025 is a race weekend in the Gold Coast, Australia.
While London’s absence will likely result in dipped viewing numbers in the UK, the series is expecting its biggest year to date which comes after already confirming record breaking numbers in 2024.
Viewership numbers per race went up by a staggering 73 per cent, while the overall 2024 season produced a 151 per cent total year-on-year increase.
Further details, including the complete calendar and ticketing information, will be announced soon, according to the series’ organisers. For updates and presale access, visit the official World Supercross Championship website.
