BMW Replaces Honda as Official Safety Partner at the Isle of Man TT
BMW will replace Honda after more than 30 years of the Japanese brand holding the role of safety partner to the Isle of Man TT

BMW has agreed a three-year deal to become the official Safety Partner of the Isle of Man TT, and in doing so it will provide marshals with motorcycles along with a range of four-wheelers for the various different safety roles.
The German brand will offer support to the TT’s Officials, Medics and travelling Marshals through a range of vehicles at the famous road race.
The Travelling Marshals are all former racers and will be aboard BMW S1000 RR machinery, after the three-year deal sees BMW take over from Honda. 2025 marks the 70th year at the event for Travelling Marshals who are also first responders.
Despite being replaced by BMW, Honda is celebrating more than 30 years in the role of official safety partner for the TT this year, with partnership first starting with marshals at the Isle of Man TT in 1977.
During that time various production Honda motorcycles were used in this unique role, including the 1977 CB750, 1978 CBX1000 and 1995 RC45, as well as various iterations of the Fireblade.
Speaking about BMW's new deal Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport, Isle of Man Department for Enterprise, said: “Safety is at the heart of everything we do at the TT, and having partners who can help us deliver on that commitment is crucial to the event's success.
“Our medical response team is continuously driving innovation to improve our safety standards, and having the best equipment available to them - and to all our officials and marshals - is essential in allowing them to operate as effectively and safely as possible.
“We are looking forward to partnering with BMW, a brand that shares our values and vision for the future of the event.”

TT Rider Liaison Officers will also be using the same BMW machines in their roles as they assist new members.
Scott Grimsdall, UK Head of Marketing and PR, BMW Motorrad, added: “The TT’s experienced officials, travelling marshals, and medical response teams are integral to putting on one of the greatest spectacles in motorsport.
“Deploying safely and efficiently is a crucial part of their roles, and we are delighted to partner with the Isle of Man TT Races and provide them with a range of BMW machinery packed with class-leading technology to ensure they are able to do so.”
Alongside the support from bikes, BMW is also providing a range of X5 and X3 SUVs, including a 616bhp X5M which will serve as the official Medical Fast Response Car.
